Yeah drift events use an entirely different preset of handling so its so much easier to drift in those lmao. Example: I know having softer suspension in the front wheels allows for tighter cornering while braking but increases the chance for spinning out. The biggest sin most tuning systems in a majority of games do, is omitting to explain in sufficient detail what tuning the bits actually do, eg. how stiffer springs vs shocks vs sway bars affect car behavior in corners or uneven terrain, or brake bias changing the balance when braking (over vs understeer).

First thing to try is the classic driving rhythm, brake, off brake, turn, then when mostly done turn gas (NOS if long straight after corner exit). If you want to get into tuning then you'll want to work on the brake bias and suspension. I'd still consider myself an amateur tuner but I'll give this a shot.
